Interesting fact about the Photographer: In 1922, Curtis had once again taken up a trip to photograph Native Americans. This time he invited his daughter, Florence, to come along. Growing up, and now especially with her parent’s divorce, she had hardly ever seen her father. However she was impressed by his work saying:
For all his brawn and bravery he was a gentle, sensitive man and a wonderful companion. He had a vast knowledge of and kinship with the outdoor work in which he lived so many months every year. He knew the trees, the animals, the birds and flowers. Camping with him was an unforgettable experience.
