About the Artist: A native of Chicago, Licciardi studied at the Chicago Institute of Art and the American Academy of Art. His exposure to Impressionist and Cubist work by Degas and Chagall at the Chicago Institute of Art influenced his aesthetic and philosophical sensibilities. Licciardi’s statement, “Experimentation is so important, a system is death,” exemplifies his resistance in pursuing one medium or style.
