Interesting fact about the Photographer: After a disappointing trip to Oklahoma in 1926 where Curtis learned the Native Americans had forgotten their old ways, he and his crew were happy to find that the Nunivak inhabitants still practiced their traditional hunting, gathering, and communicational customs.
