Maureen Bardusk is a studio artist in Galena, Illinois. For over 30 years she has worked in mixed media. In addition to participating in solo and group shows, she has curated and juried exhibits, written articles about textile work, and been awarded residencies. Her work has been widely exhibited, and is in collections both local and international.
As a studio artist in the Driftless region, my work addresses landscape from an abstract point. This series, Greetings, is composed of collected paper cards which have been cut and reconstructed, woven and stitched, revealing handwritten notes and photos. Random combinations create a simple sketch of moments that build a complex structure.
