“Aesthetic Expectations of Campbell’s Soup.” In this imagery-rich presentation, Professor Garfield (Chair of Computer Graphics Department and Director of the Bisignano Art Gallery at the University of Dubuque) will explore the role of imagery and philosophy in Pop Art. Half a century later, he will explore just what is it that makes those images so different, so appealing, for their time. (As a fledging grad student, Alan met many of those artists and the dealers Leo Castello and Louis Meisel.)
