Dr. Elaina Burns, piano department head at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, will perform a series of musical selections designed to take listeners on a journey down the Mississippi River. Following the Soundscapes concept currently featured at the museum, Burns will provide music that will support the artworks on display, from a piece inspired by Lake Itasca, to hymns on the prairie, to jazz inspired works. Set in a casual atmosphere, listeners can take a seat near the piano in the lobby or come in and out, explore the artwork, and listen to the music as it carries into various rooms in the art museum.
