November:
Make Your Own Buttons, Keychains, Stickers and Magnets
Saturday November 4th
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
For ages 9-16
Fee: $10 per child ($5 members) plus $5 materials fee
During this session, young artists will be shown how to operate a hand-operated button-making machine in order to create their own custom buttons, magnets, and keychains, which they can then take home and keep. A hand-crank adhesive laminator will also be available for making stickers, as well as a variety of fun art supplies for decorating their designs. Instruction and demonstration for the equipment will be provided, and each attendee will be able to create multiple objects of their choice. These make very unique hand-made gifts for friends and family!
Fantasy Pets
Saturday November 18th
10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
For ages 6 – 8 (Accompanied by an adult)
Fee: $10 per child ($5 members)
Young artists, in the company of an adult caretaker, will be invited to choose from a variety of small toy “pets” provided for them to pick from. After choosing their pet, attendees will create tiny habitats for their chosen creature, decorating small plastic container “enclosures” however they think suits their new friend! Discussion of what this imaginary pet would appreciate in a home will be encouraged, as well as creative and unusual ideas for how to arrange their mini-habitats. A wide variety of options and materials will be provided to encourage each individual child to let their imagination run wild! (Just to be extra clear–there will be no actual live plants or animals!)
