At 1:30 P.M., Award-winning artist and author Arthur Geisert will discuss the making of his book Country Road ABC: An Illustrated Journey through America’s Farmland, a refreshingly realistic view of contemporary rural life in eastern Iowa.
At 2:30 P.M., Dubuque Camera Club members will discuss the 2023 iteration of their annual photography exhibit, Rural Midwest. Members will talk about their experiences and the personal stories behind their work.
Dubuque Camera Club members will discuss both artistry and technique of the works in their exhibition, Portraits, on January 7 at 1:30 pm. Following the talk, audience members can have their photograph taken in a style inspired by Therese Mulgrew’s Intimate Exchange paintings.
Dubuque Camera Club members Bob Felderman, Ronald Tigges, and Stephonie Schmitz will present a program about war photography and the use of the camera from the Civil War through the Vietnam War—the era when the Rolleiflex, 35mm, Leica, Nikon, and Canon cameras were introduced.

Reflections: Photography by the Dubuque Camera Club

The Dubuque Camera Club explores themes of “reflection” in the 7th annual exhibition of photographs by club members. Organized by the Dubuque Museum of Art in conjunction with the Dubuque Camera Club.
Ron Tigges, president of the Dubuque Camera Club, will discuss and show amazing in-camera techniques of creative photography, as seen in the featured exhibition, Dimensions of Photography, on view until October 29th. Our “Lunch and Learn” series of educational art-related programming are always free. Lunch is not provided, but you may bring in a brown bag lunch to eat during the presentation.
The Dubuque Museum of Art invites you to join the Worldwide Photowalk on Saturday, October 11th from 10 AM–Noon.
Photographers of all ages and skill levels will meet to socialize, share, and inspire each other during this one-day, worldwide event. The Walk will be lead by Ronald Tigges, President of the Dubuque Camera Club, along with Club members. They will lead a short tour of downtown architecture, nature, and provide assistance with cameras. Focus will be on composition.
All cameras, skill levels, and ages are welcome to join. Smart phones to DSLR. Bring any lens or other accessories that you might like. Be prepared to walk a few blocks, the area is flat. In case of inclement weather bring an umbrella and rain gear – we will still go out! If you run late, check in at the Museum and they will forward you to our location.
