DuMA will be hosting an exhibition reception for Molly Wood & Ioana Mamali.  The Museum will also be a festive stop on the city-wide First Fridays gallery hop featuring an ugly sweater contest, hot chocolate bar and make/take ornaments.

“The Poison Garden: Photographs by Molly Wood” is a new body of photographs of toxic botanicals, as part of her well-known Fatal Flora series, during a recent residency at Alnwick Poison Garden in Northumberland, England. Sponsored by Cottingham & Butler

“Totalitarianism Seen Through Metaphors: Paintings by Ioana Mamali” features seven new works in oil that explore the artist’s experience growing up under Communism.

Sculpted In Summer celebrates the unique connection between the art of floral design and works of fine art.

The idea is simple: A work of art in the museum’s collections that inspires is selected and a ‘living’ sculpture from either living flowers, cut or dried stems or edibles is created. The end result may be simple and elegant, or wild and outrageous..the possibilities are endless!

Join us Friday, July 6 at 5 pm, when these living sculptures are unveiled to the public as part of the Dubuque Museum of Art’s popular First Fridays series.
