Interesting fact about the Photographer: In 1902, the Photo-Secession Club was created by famous photographers such as Alfred Stieglitz. This group was created to prove to viewers that photography was an art form. Curtis used the same strategies that these Club members did in taking photographs. By using soft focus and light in combination with simple backgrounds, Curtis and the photographers of this Club created photos that looked almost like Impressionistic paintings.
