Interesting fact about the Photographer: It was no surprise that Curtis’ finances were dwindling once again. However, to gain more funds for his twenty book series, The North American Indian, he created a “picture musicale.” This project was to be a slideshow of his photos over the years, with Native American music composed by Henry F. Gilbert. By 1911, this project became reality, and Curtis presented his show all along the Northeast, including a sold-out performance at Carnegie Hall in New York. (from: Makepeace, Anne. Edward S.
