Interesting fact about the Photographer: Curtis’ photographs that were taken on his California trip in 1922 were extremely different than any of his other photos taken earlier in his career. He stopped focusing on the traditions of Indian life. Instead, his California portraits capture the abandonment, betrayal, grief, and untrusting sides of many of the Native Americans.
