Interesting fact about the Photographer: Edward Curtis was able to mold his love for the outdoors into his photography as well. Not only was he talented at capturing portraits, but he also captured eye-catching landscape scenes. Curtis was even a part of the Mazamas, a group dedicated to mountaineering in Portland, Oregon. Curtis was given the title of captain as he guided groups of men and women up Mount Rainier. (from: Makepeace, Anne. Edward S. Curtis Coming to Light. Washington D.C.: National Geographic, 2002.
